It’s Official! iPad3 event on March 7th in San Francisco

Amongst the Mobile World Congress (MWC) hype, Apple today decided to send out press invites to its iPad 3 event next week.

Apple are one of the few companies who can almost destroy the excitement of a large technology event such as MWC just by revealing a date of their next product. In the past, Apple have always teased features of their new device on the press invite. Taking a look at the image above, we can see that the icon quality is very high, perhaps hinting to a retina display on the device, which was the biggest rumour about the iPad3. We call it the iPad3 but no one knows what the true name will be until Apple shows it at the event.

The actual event is on March 7th at the Yerba Buena Center for the Arts in San Francisco and it will be at 6 PM GMT (UK Time)

Edit: We just realised the image above appears to indicate that Apple have ditched the home button with the new iPad, by which we mean they have probably made it capacitive instead of a physical button. Let us know your thoughts on this change, do you expect to see this capactive home button in the upcoming iPhone and iPod Touch?

Lol thanks for the compliment man, well I’m studying too but this news was just too good not to do an article on 😛

  • I’m not quite sure if they are going to remove their home button on their iPad 3. It doesn’t seem like something that Apple would do as they like to keep their products as similar as possible. When the iPhone 4s rumours were going around, people kept saying that we would have a 4-inch display, but Apple kept it as 3.5-inches. I can’t wait to see what Apple release with their new iPad next month.

So I see Apple are jumping on to the ‘capacitive home button’ bandwagon XD
I wonder what else they have up their sleeves! 😛

  • Seems a while ago now! Good memories! Good article Purav!
