Three MWC Recap Event In London

On 7th March 2012 while Apple was busy unveiling the new iPad, Three UK decided to have an event of its own.

The event’s hashtag was #ThreeMWC and as you might expect from that, it was basically a recap of Mobile World Congress (MWC), showing which new phones from MWC would be coming to Three UK. These included HTC One S, Sony Xperia U, HTC One V and the beast of a device that is the HTC One X.

The event kicked off at 7 pm in the Roxy Bar/Nightclub in Central London and we as bloggers were allowed to just pick up and play these new devices. It was certainly a lot better than other events I’ve been to where the phones are locked into a stand, so it was nice to have this freedom to explore the devices fully.

I managed to get some hands on footage with the HTC One X and that video is below:

I also managed to get some hands on footage with the Sony Xperia U and that video is below:

Three UK really knows how to throw a great party, offering us bloggers an open bar as well as some nice food to enjoy while we played around with devices as well as chatted to some Three representatives, all before the final part of the event, the quiz.

The quiz consisted of six rounds as you can see from the Gallery below and the prize for the winning team was a Three Web Cube. Unfortunately, my team didn’t win. Three UK had placed their Mifi devices on each table, allowing people to use this for free wifi, which no doubt some people used to *cough* cheat *cough* during the quiz.

The event wrapped up after the winning prize was handed out and it finished at about 9:30 pm. Ultimately, I really enjoyed this event, it was great to demo the new phones from MWC, meet some awesome people at Three as well as some other bloggers I before only knew through Twitter and YouTube like Darren Dunn, Emkwan and LeonJayJay. I’d like to say a big thank you to Three UK for inviting me to this event and I definitely look forward to the next one.

The gallery of all the images I took at the event is below, please be sure to check it out:
