Review: Edifier Aurora 2.1 Speaker’s

Before starting this review a huge thanks goes to KLAssociates for providing the Edifier Aurora 2.1 Speaker’s for review.
The Edifier Aurora speakers are 2.1 compact speakers suitable for connecting to your PC or Laptop to give you that extra boost in sound quality when listening to music. Retailing between £30 and £55 these small speakers have a really high quality to them.

Whats in the box:

  • 2 Small 3.5 watt satellite speakers
  • 15 Watt tubular shaped subwoofer
  • Power Cable
  • 2x 3.5mm jacks

Design:

As soon as you unpack these speakers you realise that they are better quality than the price tag would show. The subwoofer has some weight to it and adds to the feeling that these are premium speakers. The 2 smaller satellite speakers are constructed out of plastic. They also feel very high quality and have the same premium feel to them. However, they do weigh less than the subwoofer and do therefore topple over sometimes. In addition, due to their plasticy design, they are also vulnerable to finger prints and smudges.

Setup:

As with most 2.1 speaker systems setup is relatively easy. The power cable provided with the speaker’s connects to the back of the subwoofer as do the 2 smaller satellite speakers. There is 2 3.5mm jacks included in the box. These connect to the back of the subwoofer and into either your laptop or iPhone. You can also connect it to a whole array of devices. The cables provided with the speakers are more than long enough to get some spacing between the two smaller speakers.

Audio Quality:

The audio quality when buying any speaker system is the most important factor. Luckily with these , the premium design of the speakers continues with impressive high quality sound. The Edifier Aurora performs extremely well under both high and low sounds. We tested the speakers both with a Sony Vaio laptop and an iPhone 5. The speaker performed very well when tested with both of these. The sound wasn’t distorted whatsoever. The sound was of very high quality even when we had the speakers at full volume. However, if we kept the volume at full it would have resulted in a severe headache.

Summary:

Pros:

  • Great sound quality
  • Premium high quality design

Cons:

  • The smaller satellite speakers do accumulate finger prints and smudges over time.

Conclusion:

The Aurora speakers by Edifier are an outstanding set of 2.1 speakers. They shall be rates with a 9.5/10 due to the premium design and great sound quality. You can buy these speakers from Amazon for £49.95 which is an absolute bargain. They are also available from other retailers for various prices. A huge thanks goes out to Jessica from KLAssociates for proving the Edifier Aurora speakers to review. Feel free to comment down below on what your ideal speaker setup would be.
